INTERNET REPORT
For a change a few UK-interest cards have featured over recent months.
While none could be said to be cheap, prices raised were not exceptional
for rarely seen cards. Members will
remember the “Kano camel “ card featured in issue 50. Earlier from Kano is
this card showing the crew of the first Imperial Airways airmail flight on the
spur route from the main South African trunk route.
The pilot of the DH.86 was the famous O.P Jones,
shown here on the left in pith helmet and shorts on his only venture away
from the European routes pre 1939. (downloaded picture so not the best quality)
Staying
pre-war we have this Gatwick view
And
two cards of Saro Cloud “Cloud of Iona” that crashed off Jersey
Sold
from Dublin to London for £64 the pair.
Later,
but probably rarer, a Misrair (Egypt) issue Viscount $78.
