to the Aviation Postcard Club International
Up to 2002, these objectives were served by the publication of a quarterly newsletter, and, since that date, the Newsletter is published both in paper form and posted on this website. Members also have access on this site to a full archive of editions since 2002, which cover wide range of aviation topics. The content reflects the balance of the membership which is weighted towards civil aviation, and, in particular cards depicting the history of the worlds airlines. However, there is also substantial representation for other aspects of aviation including military topics and early 20th century pioneers. The range of subjects and the Club itself is truly international. Although the main membership is in the UK, there is a substantial group in North America with further representation in Europe Australia and Japan. To get an impression of the range of interests covered take a look at the sample newsletter. For this special issue, our 50th, we asked 50 members to nominate a postcard of particular interest. What you see is the result which provides an excellent insight into why people collect aviation postcards as well as many card images. In the past we have published paper catalogues of all the known cards of a particular subject. Similar research is ongoing but future publication is likely to be on digital media or by publication in the members area of this website. If you want to see more, click on Newsletter for the sample, or catalogues for publications and if you would then like to join us, the current rates are available by clicking on join, where you will also find E-Mail contacts. Fees can be paid by PAYPAL.
